A special program was successfully held on 13th and 14th August 2025 at the premises of the North Central Provincial Land Commissioner’s Department under the direction of the Land Commissioner General’s Department.
The program focused on field inspections related to unresolved land issues in the Anuradhapura District, along with the review of nearly 1,000 long-term lease files where no follow-up action had been taken. Proceedings on other relevant files were also carried out during the program.
The initiative was conducted with the active participation of the North Central Provincial Land Commissioner’s Department, the Anuradhapura Inter-Provincial Land Commissioner’s Office, and all the Divisional Secretariats of the Anuradhapura District.
On 15th August 2025, a discussion on state land management and the resolution of land issues was held under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Lands and Irrigation and under the direction of the Anuradhapura District Secretariat.
The meeting brought together all land-related institutions, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation, the Land Commissioner General’s Department, the Land Title Settlement Department, the Department of Irrigation, the Mahaweli Authority, all Divisional Secretariats, and other relevant agencies.
A wide range of issues concerning state land duties were discussed during the session.
